Australian singer/songwriter Karen Lynne is Australia's foremost female contemporary Bluegrass artist.

Vocalist Karen Lynne has a style of that ranges from Country to Bluegrass to Folk and everything in between. She was the first Australian female artist to record a complete Bluegrass album, 'Blue mountain Rain' back in 2000 and has worked with Sydney band "Acoustic Shock” ever since.

Recently, Karen has taken the opportunity to branch out in her own bluegrass line-up, Blue Mountain Rain. She takes with her a few well known faces from Acoustic Shock and joins up with, for the first time since their family band 'Homefolk' in the 80's, her sister Liz Frencham. This exciting new line-up presents a mix of contemporary & traditional bluegrass along with instrumentals and a number of Aussie originals. It features stunning 3 part harmony vocals from the Frencham sisters and banjoist Martin Louis. TheWonderfulLivesEgg

Sat 10th of March
The Wonderful Lives
(Blue Mountains Album Launch) + Special guests 'Egg Malt'

"Piano, cello, pedal steel guitar, bass and drums collide in an epic storm of folk-shanties, grimy rock dirges and bittersweet dark country tales."

The Wonderful Lives were born in Sydney mid 2008 and are a mix of Mountain locals and city dwelling folks. They have just released their first full-length album titled “The Human Heart Will Take Your Life” and will be performing a special Blue Mountains album launch show.

Recorded over the winter of 2011 the album perfectly captures their alternative folk rock sound and unique instrument combination. From the grimy dirge of 'The Dirty Bride' to the bittersweet 'Way Out To Sea', the harrowing 'Mary Lou' and the demented carousel ride that is 'They Were Waiting For Me' this collection of songs constantly rises and falls, taking the listener on a ride from love to hate, life to death and heaven to hell.

The Wonderful Lives consist of Katoomba locals Tim Mahony (Cello, guitar, backing vocals, melodeon) & Johnny Graffham (Electric guitar, Pedal Steel) as well as Lucas Preddey (Vocals, piano, guitar, harmonica), Scott Cary (Drums, percussion, melodica, guitar) and Cameron Jones (Bass).

The band has performed their blistering brand of alternative folk across metropolitan Sydney and regional areas, taking in iconic live music venues such as The Gaelic Club in Surry Hills, the Annandale Hotel, the Sandringham Hotel in Newtown and the Gearin Hotel in Katoomba.

Songs from the band’s catalogue have been selected for rotation on the playlists of Sydney’s FBi radio (94.5FM), 2SER's 'Sideways through Sound' show (107.3FM), Blu FM (89.1 FM) and have also featured in Triple
J’s Unearthed showcase.

Sit back, grab a drink, and listen with someone you love. Or hate.

LyallMolonyAshleigh

Sat 31st of March
Lyall Moloney & Ashleigh Mannix
INDIE, ROOTS, Storyteller / Singer / Songwriters
Local support to be announced

In March last year Lyall set off on an adventure to Ethiopia with his younger sister Jade. He decided to accompany her as it was her first trip abroad and Ethiopia didn’t seem the safest destination to explore. Within hours of arrival, our Western pre-conceptions for the (at the time) black-listed nation were shattered in a barrage of beauty, culture and friendly faces. Over there he recorded about 25 songs which he has collated them down to an album which will was released in November 2011, followed by heavy touring. The live shows involve a lot of real-time looping and psychedelic dreamtime harmony love.

“Lyall’s an amazing musician and it was really nice working towards such an interesting and thought provoking project.”
Tim Powles (The Church) when asked about mixing In A Hut In Barhir Dar
Lyall Moloney drives all his passion for story telling and prose into the performance. The crazed emotion with which Lyall sings his stories is a real credit to him as a front man; this is not to mention his fantastic vocal skills.
The Gun Lab
“Lyall’s ‘In A Hut In Barhir Dar’ gives a cultural reflection to the role of storytelling in our fast and chaotic lives” The Hopeless Utopian.

Beatle Magic
The Beatles Show

Beatle Magic is a tribute show with a difference, 'THE' most authentic sounding Beatle Tribute you will ever hear.

This Sydney based show has had massive reaction in there first three years. There reproduction of the Beatles sound is second to none. Even down to their stitch for stitch exact replica Beatle suits made by the owner of John Lennons original 'A Hard Days Night' suit, (bought at Sutherby's) AS WELL AS identical instruments that the Beatles used around the world for your musical enjoyment....

Founding member and band leader Bill Croft (as John Lennon) is no stranger when it comes to the sounds of the Beatles, being his favorite group of all time, he has been performing their hits from an early age. It has been his goal to create the best Beatle Show possible even to the extent of engaging the no.1 bass guitarist performing the major club circuit, (Lance Link as Paul McCartney) who not only plays bass but also belts out some of the most demanding McCartney vocals known to fans without a hitch, the line up is completed with the addition of Sam Bounader and Peter Connarie, 2 of Sydney's most sort after muso's who provide the perfect George Harrison/Ringo Starr balance.

All Beatle fans young and old if you missed out on seeing The Beatles live well look no further as you will not hear anything closer to the real thing in the BEATLE MAGIC SHOW experience...
The response to this show has been overwhelming.
This show is the most authentic sounding Beatle show in Australia.

Witness fire, illusion, passion, irreverent satire, singing saws, flying chooks and musical mayhem.

Since 1997, the National Junk Band has had toes tapping and jaws dropping at festivals, pubs, and venues across Australia.
Festival favourites at the likes of Woodford Folk Festival (QLD), The National Folk Festival (ACT), Cygnet (TAS), Fairbridge (WA), and recently at BluesFest (Byron Bay, QLD).
