Wentworth Falls have repeated last year’s clean sweep of the zone finals to secure the grade 5 pennant.
Wentworth Falls Men’s Pennants: In what was described by officials as “a remarkable feat for a small club” the Wentworth Falls bowlers have stepped up from last year’s 5-0 run in grade 6 by taking the grade 5 flag in Bathurst with a game to spare. A cold and windy morning had to be survived to secure victory over Manildra by nine points in Sat morning’s first game. A strong win over Canowindra by 35 in the afternoon boosted a “for and against margin” that came to be unnecessary. Sun morning’s showdown with initial tournament favourites Camden BC became an early afternoon thriller of two wins, draw and a stunning three point victory. The fifth round was declared a dead rubber and Blacktown will never be sure if they were denied or spared. Congratulations from the Club and supporters.
